back but had so much trouble with them that we dropped them. The soles were separating from the upper part of the boot. We have had good luck with Wolverine, Winchester, Rocky, and LaCrosse. The LaCrosse have been my favorite but they are not a hiking boot. They are fairly heavy and good for hunting in rough terrain. I don't hike so hiking is not something I even think about. I am strictly a hunter.
The Rocky boots are OK too. I have no idea where they are made. I hate to admit it but I really don't care. If they are comfortable and fit me well then they are fine and I know they are going to last me maybe 2 years at most anyway. A lot of "American made" boots are actually made in China or somewhere other than the US and just the final fit, finish and trim work is done here. If you plan on hunting with only American made gear on, you might as well plan on hunting naked.
