the fact that "soft" bulleted cowboy .45 Colt ammo still printed on a pie plate at combat ranges. I figure it might bump up just enough to give a little spin. Remember that .475" is the depth of the grooves, not the high ridges that likely touch a .452"+ bullet.
A .44-40 in a .45 Colt works enough to serve in a bad pinch. I did it accidentally off the bench testing and got about a 4-5" group at a measured 25 yds.
