These days field stripping is not a necessary function for several hundred rounds. We don't have corrosive ammo anymore so cleaning is not necessary after each shooting session. Even then, all you might need would be a bushing wrench. No other tool would be needed to simply take the slide off. If you were a target shooter and want half inch groups at 25, then a good tight fitting bushing might help the group size. Stop in sometime and take a look at the 1911s in the showcase.
