There are some things to watch for when using an electronic scale. Any breeze can disrupt and static electricity will disrupt. Temperature changes can affect the reading. I used my balance beam to verify until i figured out a few things. That was right around the year 2000. I got a new electronic scale a few years ago, and they are much faster now than they were 20 years ago.
