The Savage 1899 is a real nice rifle. I got a hold of one for 99 bucks and refurbished it. It’s sweet shooter. They all get the job done. I prefer kit 30-30 and 35 Remingtons with a gold trigger. But marlin built plenty for the old school big box stores back in the day. Glenfields go for a premium price.
