for covid are for only about 10 weeks vs 6 months for the flu. In addition, covid leaves lasting and/or permanent damage to heart/lungs/brain/vascular whereas flu does not. There is a lot of unknowns about this new virus so it's not to be underestimated. If you are older with some other underlying condition, which most older people do have, you are going to be in a much worse position than you would be with the seasonal flu. In addition, this virus kills a higher percentage of younger people with no underlying conditions as the seasonal flu. Those numbers you are relating to, they are people with families...MILLIONS of people in deep sorrow.....MILLIONS of lives changed forever. I know..it doesn't really matter...unless it's you and your family being affected directly..then it hits home(not calling anyone out..general comment). My son and his wife are both microbiologists working directly with this virus so I hear about things the public does not. Covid is not to be underestimated.
