What an interesting trip. Gary built me a 450 Rigby Rimless, which is the 416 Rigby blown out to accept a .458 bullet. While estimates vary, the bison was 1500 to 2000 lbs. It broke the hitch on the truck that transported it back to the skinning shed. This was also the trip where I used a 416 Rigby No. 1 Beast, also from Gary on an unfortunate pig. The shot blew the pig off his feet, pushed him 4 feet through the air where he hit a fence, slid down and ran off! WB has a video of me finishing the job with a 410NBR. The pics are the 416 Rigby Beast and the 450 Rigby at the range getting ready, and the pics from the hunt. Thanks to Woody for turning me on to the 450Rigby Rimless. With a 550g solid, it is among the best Cape Buffalo medicine available. The 480g 450 Rigby Rimless from Kynoch did a fine job on the bison.
