just because they work for us doesn't mean they will be OK for you. Try them on at a good store that carries hunting boots. We used to carry Danner boots and they were at the time, one of the top of the line boots. I think every pair we sold came apart within a year and they had to replace them. So we dropped that brand. I picked up a lightweight pair of Kangaroo hide boots in Australia on one of my hunts there. They are real supple, almost like house shoes. They are great for walking in the sand, but I wore them them in Africa a few years back and the area was all small rocks and gravel and they were horrible for that type of terrain.

So decide what type of terrain you will be hunting and check out the boots for that type hunting. The southwest can be horrible on boots. The ground cactus we have will be very destructive on soft leather boots and a lot of areas are covered with small rocks the size of your hand. That area would be rough on lightweight upland boots like my Australian boots. I don't think there is a brand of boots that works well for every type of terrain. And remember, just because they are expensive doesn't mean they are the best.
