I would recommend snake leggings rather than the actual boots. This way you don't have to invest in a second pair of high dollar boots. Rattlesnakes are a real problem down south of here, especially the Mojave Rattler.

This snake will hit you 2 or 3 times quickly pumping more venom in you than a standard rattler that just hits you once. And there is really no certain spot where the snakes are not abundant. It is not unusual to come across a scene like this.
