I'm fortunate to live in Georgia not far from Dahlonega, one of the earlier gold discoveries in the US. Get to pan frequently and really enjoy getting the yellow metal. Georgia gold is very pure. I had a batch tested last week and it came in at 22K. I mostly cheat though. I go to the Crisson Mine north of town and get a couple of tractor scoops in the bed of the pick up, about 1500 lbs and run it through a sluice box and pan out the concentrates at home. Love it though, and you get a bit back at the end. The last picture is over one troy once of "wild" gold.
