You "can" but the colors do not blend. The particles remain their independent color and any change is by mass association. A white dot next to a red one makes both appear pink, etc.
The various pigments have differing adherence qualities, no doubt due to whatever makes them their unique color. I'm sure that some could indeed be corrosive or abrasive, such as that HF black. Good to know. Too many choices to be cursed by one option.
