Still uneasy with Glocks

1: They are excellent guns
2: I am a nervous old grandpa
3: which is why I still feel slightly uncomfortable carrying one with a round chambered.

I stayed away from Glocks for decades out of snobbery (PLASTIC???) but then picked up a Model 31 in .357 SIG for a price I couldn't refuse. Took it to the range and was like, "Well, damn, she sure shoots nice." I still like a positive safety. As you said, it's the operator, not the tool, but the operator needs to know his limitations.

Showing my age, but I actually like the DA/SA semiauto pistol. Jeff Cooper famously called it "a solution to a nonexistent problem," but Cooper had this Yukio Mishima thing going on where he thought you should be able to train 10 hrs a day, which most of us are not able to do. The military and police departments have to find other solutions, which is how we got the Beretta 92 and the SIG P320.

With you on the Kahrs. I'm on a self-imposed ban from GB right now but as recently as a year ago you could pick one up for little over pocket change. I have a PM40 and it's basically a flat DA revolver.
