This from a guy who hasn’t actually owned a bike in years (as long as I don’t piss scotty off I can ride whenever). I have been known to keep a helmet of my own. As Amede said you want a good comfortable fit. The Arais are more oval to me, for pointy heads like scotty’s. The Shoei I have had are more for a good American round skull. This is just in general based on the model probably. I would try several on at the dealership and then check prices on line if saving some money is an issue. I like a full face but if I bought a big cruiser I would probably check out those hybrid lifting face models. They are not as safe but fit the bike better in my opinion.
