it's almost a "saddle gun" M98. The 8mm is a great round and has no flies on it. The 8mm-06 was a popular conversion and almost the full equal of the .338-06 and .35 Whelen with heavier bullets in the 200-225 gr. class. The stock 8x57 can be hotted up quite a bit and safely.
