I still have not checkered the stock on the .30-06. I may never get to it.

Over the years I sure have pissed away lots of money trying to get a custom M98, when I could have just bought a perfectly fine rifle off the shelf. Best to let others do the work for you and swoop in after it's all depreciated. Many, many, fine semi-customs with hundreds of dollars of work done to them (by today's rates) from the 40, 50's, and 60's.
