not being able to take a handgun to Canada I took

a drilling in 9.3 X 74, 16 gauge and 22 Magnum. I put a 22 Magnum insert in one of the 16 gauge barrels which gave me 3 calibers to choose from. I shot 1 of my caribou with the 9.3 X 74 barrel, shot a couple of Ptarmigan with the 16 gauge, and shot an Arctic fox with the 22 Magnum barrel. One of the very few hunts where I didn't use a handgun. The drilling was from before WW2 so it was sort of a special gun for a special hunt. I also shot my second Caribou with a custom Ruger #1 in 45-70. It was fun but didn't have the class of the drilling. The hunt was a self guided hunt. We flew into Quebec/Labrador and took a float plane to a small spit of land where the Caribou were traveling on their yearly migration. We did everything ourselves from finding the caribou which was no problem. We must have seen 5000 Caribou over the week we were there. We took freeze dried veggies and coffee and used the meat off the first Caribou for the rest of the food. We got to be pure slobs and didn't have to clean up the tent we stayed in or anything. It was all in all a great hunt and I would love to go back one day. There were 6 of us in a large tent and got snowed in the 4th or 5th day. We flew in float planes to the camp. Otter or Beaver, don't remember which. A great time.
