If mine was RB and had a dovetail front sight slot

It would be about the ultimate carry .38. The front sight is not bad, just silver. For a silver front I can see it pretty good in most light. But a height changeable fiber optic front would be the stuff. As it it's easy to find a load that hits to suit me. Plus it's unlikely it will get knocked off windage.

I have many projects like that which give me a bit of hope, and diversion. I enjoy it. Also I have an extra M94 .30-30 that I've considered making into a Jim Taylor replica. But it's a post 64 and if I'm going to spend money on it I'd rather have a smoother Pre-64 and better finish potential receiver. I'm not opposed doing it in the Winchester 8mm either. (.32 Special). It wouldn't be an exact copy, what's the fun in that, but my variation of in spirit. 16", full mag, peep sights etc.
