Reeder Custom Guns - case separations

I have 2 Miroku Winchester 73s in .357 that I've had a few years. I've mostly shot .38 specials in them. The other day I decided to shoot some full power .357s in them and got case separations in both. The cases separated right in the middle. What would cause that? It happened with Buffalo Bore 125 gr loads and some 158 gr below max handloads.
