I loaded 17 rounds for the Mosin using pulled military bullets. They measure right close to .315" .....

On the range at 50 yards, the first shot from a cold barrel went into the black. The next shot was just above it. 3rd shot went higher. From there they started going on a walkabout.

That was pretty much the day. Groups were in 3 1/2" to 5" with the rest of the ammo I had loaded.
I can see the gun prefers the larger diameter bullets. Not sure why it starts walking the shots as it heats up. Could be my cutting the bayonet crap off. Could be the muzzle is worn. Could be the barrel is touching the stock someplace. Could be the loose nut that is pulling the trigger.
I don't discount my old eyes. The open sights are tough for me at times. Today the light was good and I could see the sights fairly clearly most times.
I may knock off the front barrel band with the sight on it and cut off that smaller diameter portion of the barrel. Then I will have to remount a front sight.
Gonna start by checking the stock.
