But we can either re-do or work with it. I made a sophomoric mistake in prep. I needed to rough up the slick plastic area I was trying to fill. Rather the material stuck to my release agent more than it did to the stock. I pried it off and just used it as a "washer" which it works perfectly. It lifted the barrel just where I wanted it too.

The next project is a UPS devastated pre-64 M65 Winchester buttstock. They got pretty rough with it. You have seen how they rag those box trucks, little turbo whistling, flooring it all over. This one hit hard enough that it bent the steel buttplate. I can straighten it with a brass hammer. Now if I can find the sandwich baggie with all those wood slivers in it that Doug gave me. I never REALLY lose anything... It WAS a really nice thuddy-thuddy rifle. It will be again.
