SRH 10mm Magnum - My first go with this cartridge...

Most know my slight obsession with anything 10mm/40 Caliber. Of course, the old 38/40 will always lead the pack.

But, I've been wanting to try a 10mm Magnum for some time. So, I picked up a Ruger SRH in 10mm Auto and sent it to Gary. Along with a simple rechamber, the barrel was squared up on the back and the barrel gap was set to a minimum.

The turning point for this project was the TK Moon Clips. They are simply the best I've ever seen. They are machined to provide correct headspace on these guns. At .050" thick, they hold the cartridges nearly against the recoil shield. The factory clips run .030-.032" and the cartridge headspaces on the case mouth. With the TK Clips, headspace is on the clip just as a Rimmed Cartridge.

Misfires were common in my GP-100 10mm when using 40 S&W ammo. The TK Clips eliminated that problem. They also allow a firm crimp in a cannelure if wanted.

Look forward to seeing how this gun performs. My guess is a rimless 401 PowerMag with the ability to shoot 10mm Auto and 40 S&W.
