the barrel due to plated bullets. The bullet companies tell the buyer not to run them past a certain speed. Past that they tend to shed the jacket and let the lead core continue out the barrel. The jacket lodges in the barrel with each shot after that and soon the barrel is clogged up with jackets, then the next shot blows the barrel in half. But we have had 2 guns that I know of come into the shop with split barrels. We cut them in half and one had 8 rounds in it almost welded together. The other was so mashed up we couldn't tell how many were in there but it was a lot. I won't shoot plated bullets in any of my guns, period.
