Unrelated post; Doug's new Great Western .44

Doug and I are terrible influences for each other, so the wives think. But it keeps us broke and out of trouble. No money left for whiskey and hookers. lol

My late procurement of a 1st gen Colt spurned him on to pick up this beautiful early 60's GW, Californy Colt. Basically a good copy of the gen 2 Colt. It's in .44 Magnum too. I had one myself and shot exactly ONE .44 Magnum through it. My knuckle got a good whack and the hammer dug itself into the web of my hand. Enough fun for me. Quality can be hit of miss sometimes but this looks like a good one. I'm a bit envious now. Sighting is horrible! You can't tell from the glare but the front is nice and wide, much wider than the rear V. We found a SA dude with a CNC and jig that specializes in opening up rear sights but we'll see if he has the nerve to pursue it. It's a pretty gun and will make a fine .44 Special shooter. If I ever see a clean .357 Atomic...
