to build their black powder revolvers. they started with the serial numbers that Colt ended up with nearly a hundred years before that. They were nice guns. We sold several in the gun shop I was a partner in. They came in a nice blue presentation box. I have no idea what condition the guns were as I am not a BP shooter.
We also sold a ton of those little single shot derringers, the Lord and Lady and such. They came in nice little presentation boxes. Most were two toned, gold and black or silver and black and so on. They were somewhere around $100 for the singles and a little under $200 for the sets.
The Colt single actions were a constant seller and as far as I know they were made at the Colt factory. There were no import stamps on them that I ever saw.
I bought Colleen a Colt Sauer rifle in 300 Win mag. It was the deluxe model with the fancy stock and a smooth action that you could work with your little finger. I paid somewhere around $3000 for it. It was made by Sauer in conjunction with Colt. She still has it and used it last year in Africa.
