I think it was a San Marco or Pietta back in the day. I always liked the cylinder retention system on them and the sights were more conventional that the Colts. I do remember us getting fired caps stuck between the frame hammer slot and hammer while cocking. Pretty easily cleared even if you had to pop out the cylinder. The grip, looking back, sure is dainty. I never connected the "Bearcat" and Remington C&B design cues until it was pointed out decades later.

Jim told me something about the Italian clone bore sizes being a bit "off" in specification. (like in the .445+ range for the spec. .451 balls) I'd figure they'd be .451" but I have not checked one lately. It could be a big factor in running a "conversion".

What the heck is up with that off spacing on the .45 Conversion for that 5-shot Remington, top, second photo set? I really like the swing loading gate versions.

*Thank the Lord it's mostly under the radar, but many locale's you can buy a C&B then order a Cylinder conversion. This is in effect constructing a viable cartridge firearm. It's not a "ghost" gun but I think others should quietly take advantage of the availability and enjoyment of these unique historical footnote arms.
