Back then for several I traded around in 1980-82. I had a 2-1/2”, 4”, 6”, and 8” . The latter I affixed a 2x Leupold and truly began my adult handgun hunting. Going rate for a clean Python with box was $400. You got a heck of a deal! I bought a 70 Series Govt. model .45 for graduation. It was $290. A LOT of 1981 money. A brand new Trans-am with all the bells was around $8500!
