While mine is not a Freedom Arms, it is a Ruger Toklat. The recoil is quite a handful, I won't say it is horrendous but it is definitely a handful. I have only shot Hornady 240 gr. XTP factory loads thru it so I imagine as I move to heavier loads the reoil will only get worse. Certainly not an afternoon plinking gun. Anyone have a suggestion for a good all around load for the .454? Likely use will be black bear and elk.

- Use a strong 45 Colt load in your 454 brass. (nm) - MTM, 2021-06-11, 07:26
