I have shot a lot of black powder mostly in 20 TO 40 grain increments and revolver cylinders over the past 65 years. Never blew up anything. I can see where your way is a lot more fun as I spent 2 1/2 hours shooting on Wednesday and three hours totally stripping down and cleaning a pair of Remington 1858s on Thursday. Of course I didn't lose any eyebrows, mustache, hair, or fingers.
