play with a Colt 1860 clone by Pietta and sold by Traditions earlier this year. It was a bit rough from the box, but cycling the action a few hundred times seemed to smooth it out considerably. Didn't get a chance to really shoot for accuracy but did make some smoke at Whittington. The best part was sharing the fun with some youngsters who'd never had the pleasure of shooting a black powder sixgun before. There's a little voice that keeps whispering "You need to give an 1851 and an 1861 a try as well!". Maybe the next time we head north I can listen more attentively to that voice. There's something therapeutic about shooting the old cap and ball resolvers.
