Having been well trained by OSHA on personal respiratory protection and laboratory testing procedures no cloth or paper (much less non sealing - forget it if you have a beard, no front line firemen do) mask is going to protect you from very much at all. Smoke inhalation, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, etc. much much less a virus of all things. Can medical doctors be that ignorant, that clueless, to consider a paper mask developed for surgical use, to prevent spittle, boogers, and whiskers from getting into the internal cavity of an “open” patient an even passing safeguard from beyond microscopic virus?! Honest ones would confess it’s placating to the weak and fearful. Don’t fool yourself, educate yourself.
