Hogs eat snakes like candy! I've seen them fight over a big Cotton Mouth! Squealing and throwing up dust playing keep away, the whole time the snake striking and writhing. The Hogs only wanted to keep it from the others.
I wondered what it would do to someone that ate a hog that had been bitten 6-8 times shortly before butchering. Maybe that's why they did it in winter?! And to keep the meat fresh.
