they are deep into the chamber area and all those mods. When you screw with something perfected long ago by the very guys that literally designed the gun around that cartridge (.357) you better treat lightly. The cards are stacked against you. But I applaud the ambition.
Facing reality I'm just a firm no on the fragility of all that lockwork that goes awry. I have lengthened too many Colt cylinder hands to suit me. Gunbroker is rife with old Colt DA that (no matter if they disclose it or not) have slow or short cylinder timing from damaged hands. That's just fact.
I have a Official police with a loose .22 LR cylinder right now. I cannot figure how. It's not been outwardly abused nor stressed from the powerful round. But the cylinder turning slow will not adequately reach the locking bolt and it's not sight as it should be UNTIL you pull the trigger that tightens it all up. Colt's claim to accuracy fame.
