I thought I had a better plan as 10mm brass can be 3X what .40 S&W is. Simply seating the bullet long and using a 10mm charge makes the brass insignificant. I know you can get a little more from a long seated 10mm but that is not the point.
I get .40 S&W shootability and economy and the ability to perform to full 10mm power. Interestingly for some reason I find that a "semi-auto round fired in a revolver loses NO performance compared to a sealed breach semi-auto of the same comparable barrel length. (we don't count the cylinder length on revolvers, cheating?) ALSO accuracy is great despite up to a full inch (!) of bullet travel before slamming into a forcing cone and the rifling. Go figure..
