the old 191 bullet is a great one. I load them with 8 gr. of Unique for my Ruger .45 Colt. Pleasant to shoot.
The last beef I had butchered was a big red Hereford cow that I had. She had not given me a calf for 3 years so I figured we would eat her.
When the butcher came out to the ranch I asked him if it was OK for me to kill the cow and he said "Sure." I put some range cubes on the ground and when she went to eat them I shot her with my 1887 1st Generation Colt SAA. The load was 38 gr. of FFg and the 454191 bullet. It worked just fine.
