since that is such an odd diameter, I wonder if you could "size down" a .358 jacketed round to .348". I've gone 0.010" from a 0.410 to a 0.401, which is about as far as I want to go. Just make sure you have a lead core and use a little lube. You can't do such things on a flimsy press but it can be accomplished.

It would be useful to make bullets if you could not find any. I noted it makes the projectile a little longer. But I have not noted any loosening of the core from jackets. They seem to work fine. Just try to find a Serria JHC for your .38-40! With some ingenuity you can fabricate a supply! Ditto for making heavy .452" from .458's. I made some 300 gr. for the .450 Bushmaster.
