And the rain keeps on coming. Several cities

in Arizona are under water and here whole subdivisions have a foot or more of water in their houses. The rain is running down the hillside, across the hiway and ending up in people's yards and houses. The houses sit about 6 feet lower than the road so the water just ends up in the yards and in many instances in the houses. The city has handed out over 20,000 sandbags and people have them stacked 3 and 4 feet high but as long as it keeps raining the water keeps seeping thru the sandbags. They have placed dozens of the concrete hiway barriers in front of many of the houses and businesses but it doesn't stop the water. [image]

In the pics of the hillside the fires of a few years ago burned much of the undergrowth off and there is nothing to slow down the water running down the hill. There are houses right at the bottom of the hill and they have a lot of water to contend with.
