Many times I end up with odd bullets

We have a nice cashe of .44 cal. old school SSK type 330 gr. TC plain base bullets. They shoot great and have a nice little flat tip that keeps them going straight and true in about any medium I shoot them into. I was actually shooting them from some .44-40 Win. cases in my custom SBH with it's engraved stls. cylinder.

But how mad are you at stuff you want to shoot?! Hustled out at 1400+ fps they are brutal! I have dialed them back to about 1200 fps where they still hit within the POA capabilities of the adj. sights but are more tolerable. They will still shoot clean through treated power pole material and keep going! You can only make something only so dead you know, hunting. I have no reservations about them on hogs, or anything else.

I was looking around for what I had already made up in .45 cal. for some .454 loads. I didn't want barn-burners just beginning .454 loads. I found a box of 395 gr. FPGC from a friend. Whoo boy! Again a bit too heavy to suit me for the caliber. Toned down maybe they will suffice. Heavies going slow shoot very HIGH to POA. I will likely have to adjust my loads to a point where it is within the limits of sight adjustability. But I'm much rather have a load shoot too high than too low, much easier for me to compensate.
