The Weaver #3C base is for a late production post-64 rifle. It has this special screw to replace the forward mounting screw which is a #12-32 and has an OD of 0.219". I might be able to re-thread it for the available 10-32 (0.190") and IT fit in the 0.197" hole. But I'm not holding my breath. It might not fit, might not be needed (my trick work), or the old scope run out of clicks, and can the whole project. I know where some old Williams sights are! LOL
