The main thing is the negative blast is gone. It makes the recoil feel much less too, but I think that is more mental. It makes a crack downrange but it is not that loud. I have also shot a .308 Win. at the CSA shoots with a suppressor. I liked it very much and wanted one. For the same reasons. The same fellow had one in .300 AAC that was dead quiet. I don't know how to describe it, it feels like a mis-fire, just a click then "bong!" on the steel. I guess that was what it was designed for. J.D. Jones actually designed the original for full auto suppressed use. An unheard concept at the time for a longer range round. He also has the same concept down to .30 Luger loaded with 220 gr. bullets! He was way ahead of his time on that stuff. I just don't think he had the marketing model down, compared to today's tactical climate.
