The No.6 was based on the Ruger BH-44 chassis? I know the older No.5 were Reeder produced mimic's of the Ruger OM .357 frames with transfer bars. That's what mine is. I also have a No.6, in .510 GNR. The recoil can get away from me but I wouldn't trade it for the world. 350-375 gr. are ok if you keep the speed in the Elmer Keith range. Try to get crazy with the 400+ gr. and it will put you in your place. My Bison load was a home design 410 gr. at 1050 fps. It sailed right trough, twice, after punching through bone.

I knew the .510 was going to be a bigger gun, but I wanted to keep the balance and general feel about the same as the sublime No.5 .44, so I had Gary add an extra 1/2 inch to the barrel. They are 6" for the .44 and more standard Ruger length 6.5" on the .510. Both fit fine in a 6" holder.
