Despite D.B. Wesson's exploits, I fear it a little on the marginal side for deer of any notable size. But it can work, hogs too. Fun to shoot an load for. 173-200 gr. bullets really wake it up.
This is mine. (and I have several other .357's) I sent it to Gary for conversion to .356 GNR. For some reason it got a "full custom conversion" with new barrel and all hand fitting. The action and fittment is astonishing. Tight and as slick as humanly possible. The accuracy is way beyond what I can use. Adding some custom cylinders was icing on the cake. It was a fleeting idea that just happened, for a fabulous result. Note it's flat top and recoil shield scalloping. D&T for scope too, should I get the urge. Some custom guns just look basically stock, only superficially refinished. This ain't one of those. To do it again I'd spec. a 6", not 6.5", just to set it apart even more. But I have no regrets.
