That RCBS rig is a top piece of equipment!

I've tried them all, it's about the best. I have tried several of the different LEE systems and they also have their versions, or attempts, to compete with the RCBS and use mechanical leverage. But I've never been totally pleased. This RCBS type unit has been around for decades, if it works don't fix it.

*That Thumb powered "Auto Prime" system came out in the late 1970's early 80's. I have used it to mash primers in sideways, backward, partial, too shallow, and too deep. I think anyone would be more happy with a mechanical leverage and adjustable priming system when you get around to it. No matter who makes it, LEE, Dillon, Lyman, RCBS, whomever.

*On the base pin screw. Uncle GNR is right again. I think some custom makers milled a little recess for that screw to poke into on the underside of the barrel. Still it was not to be tight. The recess is what kept the pin from sliding forward, not screw tightness. I always figured blue loc-tite and the screw protruding into that recess, but not tight pushing against things, was the intent. Maybe I'm wrong. But to me the screw causes more trouble than it's worth. Makers sell stronger pin retainer springs that work much better anyway and are lots cheaper.
