I still have my Dad's 1980's M17 8-3/8" S&W. Of course a blued six-shot, no "T's" for some reason. About worthless to carry around but a nice hunter. The sight radius is really a help. I've thought about making it a 6" and have a barrel for it, but I never have. Thought about a 4" but it was Dad's and he loved the long barrel. He always said it put him that much closer to what he was shooting. We had a M14 in .38 that matched it, with (3) T's but I sold it since it was of no real use as a hunting gun to me. He never shot the .38 much.
