That is what is driving the Heritage line. Colt?! I figure there are lots of guys bored with the standard and wanted to try the old name. I hope they live up to the legend. I owned at least a half dozen Pythons and paid from $400-600 for them used. But that was a notable time ago, before kids. With a usable blue example running north of $2k, a new stainless model for $1500 seems like a deal that needs to be investigated.
