Confesson, I'd buy a Heritage to play with.

I like their little storekeepers and that "Hunter" revolver with threaded barrel (hey who wouldn't like to just see?) and play with them. For about $200 it wouldn't hurt much. Cheap wholesome entertainment. I wonder whey I've never seen Taffin Test's on a Heritage? lol

The Taurus Hunter is a pretty nice gun actually. With a little trigger honing there is nothing wrong with them at all. They have desirable features and shoot great. But they are not cheap at all. I like the stainless with flat black two-tone myself.

The .410 Revolvers are not truly useful but old men buy them for giggles and fun factor. A box of .410 shotshells at Wal-mart is about $30 for 25! Their performance is dismal overall but they are sort of cool. The 6" barrel one I had actually shot .45 Colt pretty well. I also shot a 55 gal. plastic drum with a 3" #7-1/2 shot load and half of it came right back at me, peppering me and the whole side of the barn. I'd not want to get a face full of shot in a home hallway, but a man-stopper it ain't. Facing (4) home invaders with AR's would be daunting with anything. I guess you could do worse.
