I have shot the big ones that seem to want to detach your retinas. Owned, shot and sold them only because my I still revert back to the .44 mag and .41 mag for my purposes. Well placed hit are very effective. I have taken mule deer and cow elk with both. Gary has done his magic on my go-to guns to which I highly recommend. If I need bigger when in big bear country then it is time for a rifle like my Marlin guide gun in .45-70, another Reeder creation. Casting a fly rod with a Guide Gun on your back means you are in serious adventure country. Just my thoughts...
