would say go with Trail Boss powder but being almost a flake powder it will tend to leave tiny little donuts of powder scattered here and there and that could lock up the FA revolver.. For a light load I would go with 45 Long Colt brass and 8 grains of Universal with a 240 grain JHP or JSP bullet. The jacketed bullets don't leave the ring of residue like a lead bullet will. Other than hard cast gas checked bullets I try to stay away from lead bullets in a hot 45 Long Colt or 454. I still have a batch of 454 cases that have the large primer pocket but they don't seem to be as strong as the small primer pocket brass. They tend to bulge at the base of the case with the hotter rounds.
