to me. Sort of an English copy of a Jap carb. I'm used to Mikuni's, Bing's, and Keihn's. Even Harley's run Keihn's. Not to mention it's like Triumph planted seeds and grew them inside the Bonneville frame rails and airbox. The "E" model has straight intake runners unlike the earlier splayed versions. Something to do with emissions in the late 70's. A tedious effort to remove and mickey with jets. I did change to European jetting specs. A BIG help.

Alcohol in fuel draws moisture and really creates havoc in old carbs. Deteriorates some materials as well, floats and gaskets etc. Some, not all.
