I wish I'd taken Gary up on the .325 GNR cylinder and testing. That is the .357 Mag. necked to .308, correct? As much as I love the .300 GNR I think the ease of conversion with cases would be a big advantage. On a .30 Carbine Ruger (1;16.5" twist) it won't do much with over 125 gr. But Gary's full conversions use a 1:12" rate and will do even a 170 gr.! But who would do such a thing anyway?

Exotica aside, the old .32-20 is a lot of fun. One of Hamilton Bowen's favorites. We spoke of it at HHC once. It will actually do most what a .327 Federal will with little fuss. and it goes way back before the last century! We had one of Gary's conversions and it was a hoot! Shot .308" bullets or .311" just fine. You might even consider a two cylinder duo?! Mix it up.

My 122 yr. old .32-20, still a dandy today. (demands .311" bullets or bigger)
