THis may sound weird but how about a 41 or 410 GNR revolver with an 8 1/2 to 10 " barrel so you could use it in Africa( if you desired) and a solid scope mount.
Like the 10" FA 44 magnum used by the late Mark Hampton on some of his Africa hunts.
